Concrete Retreat House is situated within a quiet coastal landscape in Ibiza, where the project is designed as a secluded escape from its surroundings. The architecture presents itself as a series of low, monolithic volumes, carefully arranged to create privacy while maintaining selective views toward the sea. The building is inward-looking in its organization, using courtyards and walls to define protected environments. Its presence is subtle yet powerful, defined by proportion and restraint.

The concept focuses on enclosure and contrast, using solid concrete walls to create a sense of refuge. Openings are controlled and intentional, allowing light to enter in a measured way. Courtyards act as spatial anchors, bringing light into the interior while maintaining privacy. The design emphasizes a balance between openness and protection, reflecting the dual nature of retreat and exposure.

Spaces are arranged around courtyards, creating a sequence of light-filled and shaded zones. Movement through the house is defined by transitions between enclosed interiors and open outdoor rooms. The experience is introspective, with carefully framed views that reveal the landscape selectively. The interplay of light and shadow creates a dynamic atmosphere throughout the day.

Exposed concrete defines both structure and finish, giving the building a unified and sculptural quality. Surfaces are smooth yet tactile, with subtle variations that capture light. Interior elements are minimal, allowing space and proportion to take precedence. Detailing is precise and restrained, reinforcing the clarity of the overall design.
